Lavender Postcards

Lavender is the theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art

I’ve made two postcards for this theme.
The first is for the color and shades of Lavender.

I used Distress Oxide Spray on 70lb heavy sketch paper.  Then a rubber stamped image, a die cut alphabet, modeling paste through a stencil, the “hello” die cut, distress inks to darken the edges and Washi tape to trim.

My second postcard is my attempt at Lavender, the plant.

Again I used Oxide Spray on heavy sketch paper and again through a stencil.  Die cuts are the plants cut from the heavy sketch paper and painted with watercolors.  The bee is a rubber stamp and a strip of Washi tape at the bottom for ground.

Both cards were then glued to a 90lb mixed media paper for mailing stability.

These are the address side of these postcards.

If you would like a chance at finding one of these postcards in your mailbox, let me know which would be your choice in your comment.  I will contact the winners for mailing info.

Happy Mail Day!

Bloom Fabric Postcard

The theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art is “Bloom”.

I get so excited when their themes can be worked into a fabric postcard and I have the time to play along.

I am not a Winter girl, so I’m looking forward to Spring and Summer!

Now to fill in the backside and get it in the mail.

Happy Mail Day!

Harvest Moon

HARVEST MOON is the theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art.

That falls right into my need to make a few Halloween greetings.

It is a simple make.  The background is scrapbook paper.  I love scrapbook paper as it takes away the hard part of creating a background that I find so hard to do.  The moon is three shades of orange Distress inks, and my Nevermore Raven stamp over the top.  Then a bit more distress ink around the outside edge.

The correspondence side...

Again, scrapbook paper, then I stamped "Post Card".

Happy Mail Day!

Ready to Haunt

This week's theme on Sunday Postcard Art is LEAVES.

I took this opportunity to get started on a Halloween greeting.

The spooky tree is a stencil, the bats and small leaves are paper punched, the rest of the images are die cut.

This postcard will have to travel in a clear sleeve, so I haven't yet decided how I want to do the back address side.

Happy Haunting Soon!

Walk Your Pets

This week the theme for Sunday Postcard Art is WHEELS.

I actually started this postcard for last week's theme of PETS.  Needless to say, it didn't get done.  I struggled with the background.  When I finally gave up, I checked what the next theme would be.  Wheels.  My pet walking cart has wheels!  I still had a chance to finish this postcard.  But I was still struggling with the background.

I worked on the background, but I didn't like it.  Not one little bit.  I finally decided to cut out the images and use my favorite background technique of finding a scrapbook paper that would do the job.  It came with sunshine.  I added Wink of Stella to the fish for his glistening scales look, but the camera doesn't pick it up well.  The tiny silver dots is the very fine Stella glitter.

The correspondence side...

Orange Collage Butterfly

There was a butterfly in my mind wanting to be stitched.  But what color did it want to be?  The Sunday Postcard Art challenge made a delightful decision for me.  Orange.  Yes.  Perfect.

I have made well over 100 fabric postcards.  Yes, most of them have been mailed out.  114 of those can be seen in my Fabric Postcard Flickr Album.

In the beginning the ideas for them came in masses.  Now I struggle for new ideas for stitched postcards.  The recipient of this one has waited quite a long time.  My waiting list is now complete.  Now I'm just waiting on new and more ideas for stitching more postcards.

Happy Mail Day!

Man In The Moon Postcard

It's been awhile since I've participated in the Sunday Postcard Art challenge.  When this week's theme came up for art with the Man In The Moon, I had to make a postcard and participate.  I recently came across this altered envelope on Pinterest, which is what was inspiring me.  I worked with thoughts of space and mail.  I actually found a couple of postage stamps to work into the design as well as using scrapbook paper, some Washi tape and rubber stamps.

You know the correspondence side is ready to go also.

Good Mail Day!

My Accomplices

The postcard theme this week at Sunday Postcard Art  is "Pieces of Pictures".  I'm awfully glad the theme was posted early to give me some time to think about it.  Odd theme, it stumped me.  In the end I took it literally.

I stamped several of my people stamps then punched inchies from the images.  Which gave me "pieces of pictures".

These people, and the butterfly, are my accomplices in my art.

I painted the inchies with Neocolors.  I also bravely tried to make a watercolor blob under the butterfly.  Not great, but not too awful either.  (Otherwise it would be residing in the trash bin)  Then I finished with my new punched letters.

ThIs Love-ing Time of Year

The Sunday Postcard Art theme this week is Thoughts of Love.  And I've had lots of loving thoughts for my friends and family.

This first postcard is my "pretty" favorite.

These next two are my "fun" favorites.  They've been mailed but I haven't heard yet if they've been received. There was a little Valentine note inside the zip pocket. I'm anxious to know if the notes were there when they received the postcard.

This next little hearts postcard was fun to make but I don't know who to send it to. If you'd like to receive it, speak up.

This next is just here with me because of the fluttering butterfly.

I also made an ATC. But I don't make ATCs.  So I plan on punching a hole in it so it turns into a tag.

I have another tag in mind, so I hope the DragonsDream blog has a Valentine theme this week.

Love to all my blogging friends,
Annie

Sunday Postcard Art - Coffee Time

Heavenly Morning!

This week's theme at Sunday Postcard Art is Coffee Time.

The background is 7gypsies scrapbook paper printed to fabric, the cup is cut from a package of fun size m&ms, the bird is rubber stamped (no identification on the stamp).  I wrote the words with a Gelly Roll Fine pen.

This would be an ideal morning, wouldn't you say?
